English program for children, ages 4 and up
We run our activities for children in Grand-Saconnex through the local parents association.
Our young learner programs accepts children ages 4 and up and includes after-school English courses for native and non-native speakers.
A personalized and welcoming class environment
Our courses are family-oriented and some include an after-school pick-up service at local schools (in Grand-Saconnex). If an after-school course runs over 1 hour, we share a teatime snack – it’s a great opportunity to practice authentic English and everyone works better on a full stomach.
We are a Cambridge exam preparation center and accompany a number of young learners to exams every year.
In our distance-learning program for individuals and groups, the instructor uses our elearning platform and dynamic resources to keep children interested, measure their progress and build their confidence as they learn another language.
Children enrolled in our face-to-face classes in Grand-Saconnex also have access to the elearning platform for extra activities and reinforcement.
Creative English and tech summer camps
Technology and the arts are great vectors to practice speaking English and revising grammar while creating meaningful projects. Children remember their holiday camp experience and when they bring their projects home, or gift a grandparent with a special video, the knowledge they acquired remains in the form of a memorable time.
Japanese courses and influence
Languages and more Director Maude Vuille spent several years in Japan and studied the language and culture. As a result, she understands the value of introducing the best of Japan in ways that engage children – such as ink work, manga and Japanese writing with the guidance and enthusiasm of our Japanese expert, Ms Hiromi Kasahara.
Some of our students also have opportunities to try out ink and Japanese brushes as part of the creative and project-based Wednesday morning English course.
Young learner course locations
During the school year in Ancienne-Mairie and Espace Pom’ in Grand-Saconnex, close to the airport, Balexert and international organizations.
We use several conferencing programs and have our own elearning platform built and maintained by teachers so that it remains personal and relevant to student interests.
Who are our students?
Over 90% of our students speak two or more languages – but this is normal here in Geneva, Switzerland, whether you are a lifelong, long-term or short-term Swiss resident. Although we work on English, it is always more than that (hence our company name).
Parents and students say that English is about :
- getting to know your new best friend who comes from an English-speaking country
- maintaining language skills and ties with family and friends across the world
- starting on their journey to mastering English as an international language for socio-economic reasons
- accessing new trends and listening to world music
Above all, our courses lay a foundation for growth – learning a language is more than just words – it’s about careful listening, curiosity, making friends, discovering the world through new idioms and comparing these to your own. Finally, our courses are about building confidence and investing into your future, multilingual self to reach your own goals.
